Belgian Artist Dr. Hugo Heyrman installed his block sculpture, "Lady Desert, The Venus Of Nevada" in 1992 based on the idea of the pixel which was being used for some pretty wild stuff in digital art when the work was conceptualized throughout the 1980's.

In 2005, Goldwell Open Air Museum Executive Director and Founder, Suzanne Hackett-Morgan organized a group of women volunteers to help repaint the block sculpture. Almost 20 years later, newest Board Members for the nonprofit organization followed the tradition and set out to do the same.

We look forward to seeing the next generation give her a fresh paint job in the next iteration of the board. Until then, we can't wait for our 40 Year Anniversary Celebration in October!

This project was funded in part by the Nevada Arts Council.
