Applying for a Residency
Deadline for applying for a July 2012 - December 2012 residency is March 1 ,2012.
Deadline for January – June 2013 Residencies is June 2012.
The Artist Workspace program accepts applications throughout the year.
A full application includes:
- GWresidencyapplication
- $25 application fee
[wp_cart:ApplicationFee:price:25.00:end] - 1-page project proposal
- 6-10 samples of artistic work created within the last two years
- A current resume
- Three professional references with contact information
All application materials must be submitted electronically in a single PDF file to:
goldwell@goldwellmuseum.org by 5 p.m. on the deadline date.
All applications are reviewed by an independent selection panel of professionals in the arts.
Residency Expectations
Selected Artists are expected to take advantage of the support we provide—funding, housing, 24/7 access to the studio, technical assistance—to more fully develop their practice and create new work.
All artists are expected to offer one public “Open Studio” program during their stay. This can take the form of an informal studio visit to a more formal artist talk or performance. In addition, many artists seek out opportunities to engage with the local community either in Beatty, Las Vegas, or even Reno. If you are interested in this kind of opportunity, please let us know at the time of application.
Goldwell Open Air Museum is a drug free environment and residents are expected to abide by that rule in the studio and in the house.
