Goldwell Open Air Museum seeks to continue Albert Szukalski's art making vision in the area by offering Artist Residency and Workspace Programs to challenge and support the creative growth of artists from a variety of disciplines.
All artists work primarily out of the Red Barn Art Center. The Center houses a large 1,125 square foot sculpture and painting studio, a gallery and performance space, a non-toxic intaglio printmaking studio, and a digital media/writing studio.
The Museum provides support for three or more Artist Residencies each year, which are awarded through a rigorous juring process. Supported residencies offer a stipend and perdiem/travel support. Artists receive 24-hour studio access and technical and production assistance. Artists are responsible for providing their own supplies, materials and personal tools
The Artist Workspace Program allows artists to establish their own unsupported residency time using the facilities of the Red Barn Art Center to pursue individual or group work. Artists are charged a nominal fee of $25 a day per artist (minimum stay two days) and have 24-hour studio access and access to technical and production assistance.
